TIME: 1:00pm to 2:30pm CHARGE: FREE Entry but $2.00 cost for cuppa and bikkies.
Our group does follow the protocols and outline of established global death cafes. We will talk about all sorts of interesting death-related things, from green burials, ageing parents to DIY coffins. We have had topics about death doulas, death in different cultures, assisted dying and near-death experiences (NDEs). At the first meeting, we talked about philosophy, the meaning of life, and our own experiences. There is no schedule for the content of our discussion on the day. At Death Cafe Timaru, we don't promote any particular conclusion, belief system or course of action.
