Hey there, I'm Alana, but you can call me Lanz! 
​Let me share a bit about the person behind the camera who captures your precious memories:

​📸 This marks my 9th year running Hoot Photography NZ, my beloved photography business. I feel truly fortunate to pursue my passion as a small business owner and meet incredible folks who I get to photograph.

👩‍👦‍👦 I'm a proud and fortunate mama to two mischievous young boys, Romeo and Maximus. Plus, I have an amazingly supportive husband who's always up for my wild ideas.

🐶 I'm a massive dog lover and share my home with a little pug named Rocky. He's a bundle of joy!

👩‍💼 By day, I work as a Child Facilitator and Case Worker at Mid South Island Women's Refuge and Family Safety Services. It's a job that warms my heart as I get to help families in our community.

📚 Currently, I'm on a path of learning. I'm studying for a Diploma in Psychology and Counseling. Also, I've started my journey to learn Te Reo, the Maori language.

🚴‍♀️ To keep fit, I'm all about bike rides, long walks with my family, and CrossFit gym sessions.

🎶 Music is a big part of my Life. I love singing and writing music; it's like soul food!

🏺 I've got a fun creative side too – making pottery is one of my hobbies.

🏖️ The beach holds a special place in my heart. Late-night swims in the chilly ocean or simply feeling the sand between my toes – there's nothing quite like it.

💎 Crafting handmade Crystal Earth Gem necklaces is another venture I enjoy with my side business, Karmec Creations NZ.

💚 I'm into tattoos; I consider them powerful forms of self-expression. My collection is ever-growing.
