Choosing the right celebrant for your wedding is like finding the perfect pair of shoes. You wouldn't squeeze your feet into shoes that are too small or wear ones that are too big; it's all about finding the right fit. Everything You Need To Know For Finding the Perfect Celebrant: Your Wedding, Your ChoiceCelebrants come in different styles and qualities; just like shoes, one size does not fit all. So, let's dive into finding the ideal celebrant for your big day.
1. Start with Your Style: Think about what style of ceremony you want. Your celebrant should align with your vision. Check out the celebrants' websites and social media pages. Scroll through their photos and get a sense of their personality and style.
2. Shortlist and Contact: Create a list of celebrants you both like the look of and feel right for your wedding. Contact them to check their availability, providing details like your wedding date, location, time, and estimated guest count. Ask if you can meet them for a no-obligation chat. 3. Face-to-Face Meetings or Virtual Chats: You should meet the celebrants on your shortlist in person or via video call. Try to schedule these meetings in the same week or close together to compare them effectively. During these meetings, share your wedding plans, theme, style, and any specific elements you want to include. A good celebrant knows how to ask the right questions to know your personality. Also, ask about their experience and training, and listen to their voice to see if you feel confident with them. 4. Ask Questions and Confirm Details: Prepare a list of questions to ask during these meetings, covering everything from pricing and packages to inclusions like rehearsals and transport. Most professional celebrants will have a contract; read it carefully and discuss any terms you need clarification on. 5. Confirm Your Choice: After meeting all the celebrants, you should decide who you want. Check their availability to ensure your preferred celebrant is still free on your wedding date, and if they are, promptly sign and return the contract and pay the deposit to secure your booking. 6. Notify Other Celebrants: Contact the other celebrants you met and tell them you've found someone else. They may have pencilled in a tentative booking for your date; now, someone else can take that spot. 7. Passion for Your Unique Ceremony: Your chosen celebrant should be enthusiastic about your wedding plans, whether a traditional ceremony, a brunch wedding at a café, or a Halloween celebration. They should be welcoming, adaptable, and easy to communicate with. On your big day, they'll run the show, ensure everything goes according to plan, keep your nerves at bay, and deliver a ceremony that wows you and your guests. 8. Don't Hesitate to Shop Around: Don't be afraid to explore multiple celebrants. Find one that both of you connect with and have confidence in. Whether this is your first or seventh marriage, it's your special day. You need someone who has your back and prioritises you and your ceremony. In the end, finding the right celebrant is crucial to making your wedding day unforgettable. So, take your time, shop around, and choose the celebrant to help you start this beautiful chapter of your life on the perfect note. Happy planning! Love, Jade x Looking for a marriage celebrant? I wish I had read this a year ago. I left it a bit late to find a celebrant so didn't have much as a choice as lots were already booked. we only booked her last week.
