The cost of real flowers is more often more expensive than fake, some New Zealand couples are opting for faux flowers. I am here to help you with the choices to align with your wedding vision.

Flowers for Boquets, Decorations, Archways and Hair. The Pros and Cons of Fresh and Fake Flowers.

Flowers are one of the most recognisable wedding decorations, appearing in everything from the archway at the wedding ceremony to the centrepieces at the reception and of course we have the wedding bouquets.

Using flowers as decorations is a great way to add a touch of natural beauty to your special day!

Fake wedding flowers have advantages over real ones, but which should you choose for your wedding? I am here to assist you in making your decision. It depends on whether fake or genuine flowers better fit your wedding vision.

Fake wedding flowers have recently gained popularity, and the selections look much more realistic. Using imitation flowers in your wedding is a beautiful way to save money without sacrificing elegance!

The typical price of wedding flowers
Your vision and budget are key in picking between real and synthetic flowers. Wedding industry professionals and couples who have married will agree that flowers are a major wedding expense!

Real wedding flowers:  The typical wedding couple in New Zealand spends an average of $1800 on real wedding flowers, with most spending between $700 and $3000.  The price range for imitation wedding flowers is often between $500 to $1500.

Real flowers are, without a doubt, significantly more expensive than synthetic flowers. Fake wedding flowers can help you save money on wedding flowers so you can use it towards other aspects of your event or even your honeymoon!

Countless Options for Artificial Flowers

Reasons for Fake Wedding Flowers

1) Every colour is Available in Fake Wedding Flowers
The fact that you can buy artificial wedding flowers in nearly any hue is one of our favourite reasons to choose them. You can have red hydrangeas, blue tulips, or purple roses. This will not only give your event a distinctive style, but it will also enable you to match the colour of your bridesmaid dresses. Use our colour swatches to verify that your faux wedding flowers will complement your sky blue and rust wedding theme colours

2) Cost
Spread out the cost of your wedding  by purchasing artificial flowers.
You can buy artificial wedding flowers months ( or a year) in advance

3) Faux wedding flowers last longer
It takes much more than a gust of wind or light rain to damage fake flowers. They are more solid and long-lasting than any actual real flower. Fake flowers will relieve you of the worry of unexpected weather if you're planning an outdoor wedding, and you can relax knowing that your décor and bouquets will look great all day.
4) Bulk fake greenery and flowers are available.
Consider buying in bulk if you intend to use foliage or a wide variety of flowers at your wedding. This is a terrific choice if you want to use garland as your preferred decor on tables at receptions, down the aisle or on an archway. Buying in bulk can save a lot of money. You can also resell your flowers once your wedding is over! Numerous New Zealand wedding Facebook groups sell new or used wedding decor/flowers.

5) No Need to Worry About Expensive "Out of Season" Wedding Flowers
Your wedding florist will ultimately design your bouquets and arrangements, but most couples already have an idea of what they want—typically, a particular style, colour scheme, or flower.

However, there are expenses related to whether or not a bloom is in-season when it comes to genuine flowers. If it isn't, the cost increases. Artificial flowers let you select any flower from anywhere in the world, regardless of its season or whether it even grows there!

6) Artificial wedding flowers are free of allergens
Real flowers can be problematic for certain people because of allergies.

7) You Can Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle With Flower Hiring
For your wedding, hiring flowers is an alternative to purchasing artificial flowers. It is a great option for people who wish to be environmentally responsible and produce less waste!

8) Your guests at Your Wedding Won't Know (or Care!)
The chances of your guests noticing that your flowers are fake are slim; they probably won't care even if they do notice they aren't real.

9) Make a keepsake for the wedding with your fake flowers.
You can keep your flowers at home on display or store them for the future to use in your  vow renewal ceremony in five  or ten years.

10) Countless Materials Choices
Silk wedding flowers are one of the most popular flower options for your event, with countless designs and colours. You may purchase flowers on various internet sites at a very affordable price. There are incredible options if you use silk flowers for centrepieces or your bridal bouquet. You can buy pre-made arrangements or individual flowers to make your design.

There are other choices besides silk! The popularity of wood flowers has increased recently. Additionally, you can find them made of nylon, polyester, and other fibres. You can even use tissue or paper to create fake flowers for a truly distinctive look that will impress your visitors.

11) Location of wedding and timing
If you plan a wedding in a remote area or there is no or limited florists or none in your wedding location, it can be problematic for real flowers to be transported safely. I have had numerous couples marry on New Zealand public holidays when florists aren't open. Faux flowers may be your best option.

It can be challenging to decide between natural and artificial flowers! But you can make a confident choice by considering these aspects. Work together as a couple and do what suits you both. Have your wedding your way with the style that suits you both.

Wedding flowers: genuine or fake?
I would love to hear about your experiences or thoughts on fake versus real flowers debate.

Love, Jade x
