A wedding couple dressed in medieval costumes, standing on a gravel road with a large fence with horses heads behind them. The bride is wearing blue, an elegant regal dress, and the groom has on a jacket and pants with a sword. The words say,
Do you want something more YOU for your wedding? Do you love hunting, the 50's era, or is tennis your passion? Check out these ideas.

Choosing Your Wedding Theme: Let Your Love Story Shine

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Now comes the fun part – deciding on the theme for your wedding.

Your wedding theme is a chance to express your unique love story and passions. It can be subtle or extravagant as long as it reflects both of you and creates a memorable experience for your guests.

Finding Common Ground
The key is to ensure both of you are on the same page. Harmony is essential – it won't work if one of you envisions a steampunk extravaganza while the other dreams of a casual beach-themed affair.

So, sit down, discuss your ideas, and find a theme that resonates with your shared vision.

A World of Possibilities
The possibilities are endless when it comes to wedding themes.

Here are some ideas to consider:

♥ Romantic and Elegant: Classic and timeless.
♥ Garden: Embrace the beauty of nature.
♥ Boho: Free-spirited and eclectic.
♥ Your Heritage/Culture: Celebrate your roots.
♥ Rustic: Embrace a cozy, countryside vibe.
♥ Medieval: Transport your guests to a bygone era.
♥ Harry Potter: For fans of magic and wizardry.
♥ Steampunk: A fusion of vintage and futuristic elements.
♥ Comicon: Perfect for pop culture enthusiasts.
♥ Under the Sea: Dive into an oceanic wonderland.
♥ Musical: Celebrate your love for music.
♥ Safari: Channel your adventurous spirit.
♥ Circus: Fun, colorful, and whimsical.
♥ Farmyard: A down-to-earth, rustic charm.
♥ Desert Chic: Elegant with a touch of the arid.
♥ Pirate: A swashbuckling adventure.
♥ Spirit of Adventure: For the daring at heart.
♥ Mystic: Add an air of mystery and magic.
♥ Fairy & Elf: A fairytale come to life.
♥ Bridgerton: Epic and regal.
♥ Seaside/Beach: A coastal love affair.
♥ Rock and Roll: For music lovers.
♥ Roaring 20's: Jazz, glamour, and vintage charm.
♥ Lord of the Rings: Journey to Middle-earth.
♥ Ancient Greece: Embrace classical elegance.
♥ Back to School: A playful nod to your history.
♥ Witches and Goblins: A touch of enchantment.
♥ Sporting: Celebrate your favourite sports.
♥ Disney: A fairytale wedding for Disney fans.
♥ Wild West: Saddle up for a western adventure.
♥ Jane Austen: Channel the elegance of the Regency era.
♥ Warrior: Celebrate strength and unity.
♥ Masked: Add an element of intrigue.
♥ Literacy Love: A bookworm's dream.
♥ Alice in Wonderland: Whimsical and fantastical.
♥ Austin Powers: Groovy, baby!
♥ Golfing/Rugby or Hobby: Personalise it with your interests.
♥ Mid Century: Retro chic and stylish.

Thinking of Unique Venues
Don't limit yourself to traditional venues. Consider unique locations like a car racing track, where you can make special memories. Its all about bringing your love story to life, being in a space or surrounded with elements which are important to you.

In 2018, I married Tim and Anneke at the International Levels Raceway in Timaru, New Zealand. Tim is a seasoned race car driver and they spend many weekends there, it was perfect for them.

Consider Your Guests
When choosing a theme, think about your guests.
  • Is dressing up in theme attire compulsory or optional?
  • Are they creative enough to make costumes?
  • Are they financially able to buy or hire them?

For guests travelling, consider whether they'll have room in their suitcases for dress-up items.

Remember, It's Your Day - Your Way
Ultimately, it's your special day and should reflect your personality and love story. So, don't be afraid to get creative, make it unique, and most importantly, make it yours!

I'd love to hear your theme ideas and inspirations. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Love, Jade x
